SENIORS
- One of the first things you should be working on is APPLYING to your college, university, or trade school. Most schools will use the Apply Texas application or the Common App. Please check your school's admission website for more details.
- Once you apply, let Mrs. Steffek know so she can send your transcript to where you just applied.
- Don't forget about using your 2 college days! Use them at some point this school year. Forms are available in the office and under FORMS FOR STUDENTS.
- TSI scores: if you are not exempt from the TSI from SAT or ACT scores, you most likely will need to take the TSI (Accuplacer). I will get info to you at least a couple of weeks ahead of time when those dates get set. If you do not want to wait to take them at school, I would recommend contacting Victoria College in Gonzales to set up your test date. Cost is $12. Remember to bring me a copy of your scores after you take it! The test will also be offered during the school day at Shiner HS throughout the year. Please stay tuned!
- FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2024-2025 school year opens in December! The form is changing this year, so I more information becomes available, I will share with you. Use the website www.fafsa.ed.gov to get started. Check out this video and read this article to learn more about the application process. All Seniors must apply as it is required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) There are lots of grants and funds available, so get this done EARLY!! Here is a GREAT article regarding FAFSA deadlines.
