Welcome to Shiner Independent School District, home of the Shiner Comanches! Shiner ISD provides an exemplary education to approximately 700 students in grades PK-12. We enjoy a rich history of great successes in both our academic and extra curricular activities. Shiner is a very special community that is "all in" when it comes to our children. Comanche Pride full of purple and gold runs rampant down every street and in every business in our community. Once you experience it, you have to be a part of it! WE ARE SHINER!!!

 

My name is Alex Remschel.  I began as the superintendent of Shiner ISD in July of 2019. During the last 28 years, I have enjoyed a wonderful and highly successful educational career. I am excited to be a part of the best school district in Texas, Shiner ISD!

 

My wife, Sandy, and I have been married for 22 years and have three children, Lane, Kade, and Kara. Sandy is an elementary teacher at Shiner Elementary. Lane is a student at Texas A&M University. Kade and Kara are 10th graders at Shiner High School. Together, we look forward to being an active and positive part of the Shiner community.  Go Comanches!!!
